Kitesurfing in Jersey, Channel Islands, UK.

When it's good, Jersey can offer some of the best kitesurfing in Europe. Just be safe out there and please respect other sea and beach users.

Local riders

Welcome to new and experienced kiters alike to this the official home of kitesurfing in Jersey. Please ensure that you follow the rules and regulations at all times, but be especially careful of other water and beach users in the busier summer months.

The Jersey Harbour Office would like to remind local riders that in order to practice kitesurfing in Jersey they must have a BKSA recognised insurance and be registered with the Harbour Office. By far the easiest way of doing that is by joining the JKSA. Please ensure you have your card available or are wearing your BKSA harness tag for inspection as random checks may be carried out. Please also do not park on beach slipways unless specifically allowed. This is so that emergency vehicles can have access to the beach (they may need to rescue you!).

Current announcement

The Environment Department & Marine Resources have asked us to be aware of the oyster beds to the South of Grouville bay and to avoid this area if at all possible.

Visitors

Jersey, the largest of the UK's Channel Islands has a number of excellent beaches where you can kitesurf and you will find the local riders both enthusiastic and friendly.

Visiting kiters are most welcome to join us on the water but we wish to point out that there are a small number of rules that need to be followed. Also the tidal range is unusually large here which can be unexpected so please beware of rocks on a dropping tide.
If you do not already kitesurf then lessons are available, just take a peek at the links section for more info and where you'll also find links to other websites about Jersey. You do not have to be a member of the JKSA to kite in Jersey but you must have valid 3rd-party liability insurance.
